Custody of assets

Your Investments. Your Control. Our Guidance.

Transparency by Design

A fee only independent fiduciary

At MVM Advisors, we believe in full transparency and client control—especially when it comes to the custody of your assets.

We do not take custody of client funds or securities. And that’s by design.
Why? In a word: Madoff.

Cases of fraud and financial misconduct—often involving advisors who had direct custody over client accounts—have shown how important it is to separate advice from asset control.
By keeping your accounts in your name, held with an independent third-party custodian, you gain security and peace of mind knowing your money remains yours, not ours.

How it works

Here’s what custody looks like when you work with MVM:

  • You choose the custodian. We’ll help you set up your account with a reputable third-party custodian (such as Fidelity, Schwab, or another provider), but you remain in control.

  • Your login is yours alone. You create your own credentials. MVM will never ask for your username or password.

  • You authorize MVM. You can add us as your investment advisor, giving us limited authority to manage investments on your behalf—but never to withdraw funds.

  • You control billing. You decide whether to have advisory fees deducted by your custodian (which will show clearly on your statements), or to pay MVM directly.

  • You fund your account. All contributions, rollovers, and transfers go directly to your custodian. You will never be asked to send funds to MVM or any account controlled by us.

  • You receive independent statements. Your custodian will send you official statements—typically quarterly—separate from any performance or planning reports we provide.

WHY IT MATTERS

Separation of custody is a safeguard—for both of us

t helps reduce the risk of fraud, ensures accountability, and reinforces trust. At MVM Advisors, our only job is to guide your financial plan—not to control your assets.
